As part of Invest-ability, our intensive investment readiness support pathway, Innovate UK EDGE clients have the opportunity to take part in Invest-ability intensive training and Pitch Panels.
These structured training components are an important part of the pathway and are only available to existing Innovate UK EDGE clients on the pathway. Before and after, you will be supported by your innovation and growth specialist to derive the maximum value from the experience.
You will have received an invitation to register your interest in participating in one of these initiatives from your innovation and growth specialist.
More details on each are included below, followed by the dates of each round. You can select a round outside of your area.
Invest-ability intensive training
Invest-ability includes rigorous, structured training in the fundamentals of investment readiness, including invaluable constructive feedback from investors.
To register your interest in participating, please find your region below and provide us with more details. You will need to ensure you read all the important information about Invest-ability before registering.
How does it work?
Preparation Meeting (virtual, 1 hour)
This meeting takes place once successfully accepted onto Innovate UK EDGE Invest-ability.
Group 'Get to Know You' Meeting (virtual, 2 hours)
Before you start the training, you will get the chance to meet the like-minded peers embarking on the same Invest-ability journey as you, meet your expert trainer, Ian Tracey, and understand what to expect. You will also have the opportunity to work on your elevator pitch. You will gain a step-by-step guide to the upcoming training sessions and how your Investment Readiness Champion and innovation and growth specialist will support you throughout.
Training Day 1 (virtual, full day)
Get an insider's look at what investors are looking for and how to find them, develop your value proposition, boost your presentation skills, understand investment legals, valuation tools, how to structure deals and fundraise efficiently. You will need to allocate time to prepare a pitch deck for Training Day 2.
Training Day 2 & Peer-to-Peer Pitching (virtual, full day)
After two weeks of fine-tuning, deliver a 5-minute pitch for peer-to-peer and trainer feedback. Before the Investor Session, you will work with your Investment Readiness Champion and innovation & growth specialist to strengthen your pitch.
Investor Session (virtual, 20 mins)
Gain experience by presenting your 5-minute pitch to a panel of investors, with a Q&A session and constructive feedback.

Is your business eligible for Invest-ability?
Your Innovate UK EDGE specialist will have recommended Invest-ability to you. We can support 15 innovative growth businesses raising £500k+ of investment over the next 24 months to take part in each regional instance of the structured component. Businesses applying should also have a minimum of £100k in income from either grants, investment or revenue. An expert evaluation panel will assess each case objectively, and we are open to hearing from businesses wanting to take part outside of their region.

The Pitch Panel
The Pitch Panel offers exposure to real investors for constructive and confidence-building feedback on your pitch. Typically it is for companies who already have a strong investor pitch, or who have a specific need to focus on pitching.
We have a limited number of places on The Pitch Panel at any one time – as a client you will already have conducted a deep dive into your investment readiness needs, but an invitation is conditional on supplying further information for objective review by an expert panel.
If you do not enter on to a Pitch Panel event, you will still continue to receive support from your innovation and growth specialist around investment and investment readiness and have the option of submitting for participation in a future round.
