A Cambridgeshire business specialising in rapid manufacturing is seeing strong growth in turnover and jobs thanks to support from Enterprise Europe Network.
The company has its sights on a 25% increase in turnover this year and has taken on seven new staff.
Fenland RP Ltd (FRP) serves clients in the medical, automotive and aerospace industries, delivering Full Service Rapid Manufacturing (FSRM), including consultancy and project management and processes such as additive and subtractive manufacturing, injection moulding, composites, casting and forming.
Luxury automotive sector
After attending an event run by EEN in the East of England, managing director Nick Osborn signed up for EEN’s Innovate 2 Succeed programme. It helps companies to manage their innovation better and commercialise their ideas more quickly, all to achieve stronger growth.
Nick said: “It was really easy to engage with the team. Penny Lord, our EEN innovation adviser, was extremely knowledgeable and gave us just the right amount of ‘challenge’ to help us with scaling our business.”
Performance management
Rapid growth in the luxury automotive sector has led to FRP expanding their geographical reach with the opening of a regional office in the Midlands to be closer to them and provide better customer service locally.
Nick explained: “We now have a better understanding of what our customers actually want and we’ve incorporated this into our marketing. We’ve improved the targeting and performance management of our sales team.
This clear focus on segmenting our client base has given us a 20% increase in turnover and we’re forecasting another 25% increase for the current year. With seven new full-time jobs created as a result of the EEN support we’ve had, we’re in a great position for future growth.
2017 sees us poised to expand faster and further than ever before, using the growth tools that Enterprise Europe Network has given us.
