Innovate UK EDGE has expanded its support to innovative SMEs in response to COVID-19, to help them address complex challenges and continue to build and grow. This enhanced support is available for both existing and new Innovate UK clients and referrals of innovative growth companies from the wider ecosystem including Growth Hubs.
What SME support is available?
Innovative small and medium sized businesses will receive bespoke support from an innovation and growth specialist based on their individual requirements. Shaped to address their immediate and short-term challenges, it will take a longer-term view to fulfil their growth potential post-pandemic and support ongoing economic recovery.
SMEs will be supported in areas including:
- reviewing business models
- planning for growth
- managing cashflow
- staff retention
- removing costs from the business
- building resilience
- research and development (R&D) and innovation capacity
- developing supply chains
- building a customer base
For the highest growth potential businesses, additional support will be provided to cover areas such as strategic reviews, funding and finance for growth, entering new/global markets and getting ready to scale.
